Research


The work of The Institute ranges from basic laboratory research in molecular cell biology and radiation physics through to clinical trials involving cancer patients, to healthcare research and to epidemiological studies in the human population. In the 2001 HEFCE Research Assessment Exercise, The Institute's aggregate research rating, corrected and weighted for staff numbers across all the subjects in which it entered, ranked it in fourth place out of all universities in the UK.
