Professor Dearnaley specialises in the management of prostate, testicular and bladder cancer and heads the Urology Unit at The Royal Marsden. Recently Chairman of UK National Cancer Research Institute Prostate Group and Principal Investigator for UK Medical Research Council trial of conformal radiotherapy in prostate cancer and Chairman of UK Medical Research Council Prostate Cancer Bisphosphonate Trials Steering Group.Current projects include the development of conformal and intensity modulated techniques to improve radical radiotherapy at a variety of tumour sites, the genetics of prostate cancer and treatment of hormone refractory prostate cancer.
