security
Any information that you send to us is secured using SSL (Secure Socket
Layer) - the industry standard for secure online transactions. For your
added security our site has been certified by Verisign - simply click
on the seal below to check our certificate's details directly with Verisign.

By using SSL technology, we can ensure that any data passed between your
web browser (the software that you use to access our website) and our
web server (the computer that stores the website pages) is protected.
Donating online securely requires Netscape 2.0 (or higher) or Microsoft
Internet Explorer 2.0 (or higher).
You may also find that you cannot use SSL if you are connecting to the
Internet via a proxy server (also called a gateway or firewall - check
with your Network Administrator if you are not sure how you are connecting).
If this is the case please print and complete a copy of our postal
donations form (696Kb, pdf format). Our address is on the form.
how
to tell that a page is secure
You can tell if a page is secure by looking out for the security symbol
which appears in your browser.
In Netscape Navigator you will see a doorkey in the bottom left hand
corner of the browser window and a blue colourbar across the top of the
content area. In Microsoft Internet Explorer a secure document shows a
closed lock in the lower right hand corner of the browser window.
You can also tell when you're in a secure area because the web address
in the location bar to the left of the colon changes from 'http' to 'https'
to signify that a SSL protocol is being used to communicate with the server.
Some browsers also give you a warning when you go from a secure area to
a regular area.
