Second edition of program
December 2006
Since the launch of the program in June 2001 there have been
a number of developments in the management of breathlessness
and new studies published in the field. We are currently in
the final stages of developing a second edition of the program
to incorporate this new information and to address feedback
collected from resource users. The existing content has been
amended where appropriate and new material added. An advisory
panel, featuring experts experienced in managing breathlessness,
has reviewed the program manuscripts and the content was amended
where appropriate in light of their feedback. The content
is at the final programming stage and will be ready for re-launch
in early 2007. As well as the revised content, the new edition
of the program will feature enhanced functionality and have
a revised look and feel.
The IEU has exhibited at a number of conferences to raise
awareness of the new edition of the program, including:
- British Thoracic Society winter meeting, London, 7-8 December
2005
- British Thoracic Oncology Group annual meeting, Dublin,
26-27 January 2006
- Palliative Care Congress, Sheffield, 5-7 April 2006
We will also be attending other conferences in the future
to both promote and launch the new edition. Please continue
to check our website for details.
"It was great to see such a
high level of interest in A Breath of Fresh Air at
a range of conferences. It was also encouraging to
hear that many healthcare professionals were already
using the program and have asked to receive the second
edition when it is launched."

The Marks & Spencer community involvement
fund, Macmillan Cancer Support and the Joseph Levy Charitable
Foundation have funded the second
edition of A Breath of Fresh Air.
