Environmental Factors in Prostate Cancer
The cause of prostate cancer is unknown, however research indicates that diet and environmental factors may be involved.
The Human Biomonitoring and Carcinogen Activation team is currently investigating the capacity of the prostate gland to activate and detoxify (break down) environmental carcinogens (substances known to increase the risk of cancer) that may be involved in the development of the disease.
