Base London

Fashion retailer, Base London, have teamed up with the Everyman Campaign and raised over £12,000 in 2003.

Base London employees organised numerous events and competitions to raise funds and awareness for The Everyman Campaign. It has been a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding year for all involved and this is how the money was raised:

The Ball Buster dartboard show card was sent to each of Base London’s customers inviting them to display it in their stores in order to help raise awareness of testicular cancer. Each stockist was asked for a donation in return.

The Design a T-shirt Competition was also hugely successful. The task was to design a t-shirt and the theme was testicular cancer. The competition was open to the public and all entrants were encouraged to donate at least £1with their design. An expert judging panel selected the best design that was produced and is now being sold in the Base London store, proceeds of which are being sent to Everyman.

As a spin off from this competition, celebrities were asked to design and autograph t-shirts for the competition and these were displayed in the Base London shop window throughout June. Six of these fantastic designs were then available for the public to win through a special phone-in competition.

Base London supported The Everyman Ball in June by buying both a table and making the winning bid for a Chelsea Football shirt.

And finally, Base London attended the Drapers Fashion Trade Award Ceremony. As part of their sponsorship of the award for Fashion Footwear Retailer, they were asked to provide a gift for the goodie bag. This year, on behalf of each guest in attendance, Base London contributed £5 to Everyman
