Edinburgh Marathon 11th June 2006

With its challenging route, in one of the most picturesque cities in the world, the Edinburgh Marathon is a hugely popular event, with many runners often choosing to take part again. In 2006, 10,000 are predicted to take part in the Edinburgh Marathon. The scenic route will take runners through the historic city past many famous landmarks such as The Castle, The Palace Holyrood House and the new Scottish Parliament Building. It passes Royal Yacht Britannia, and through the seaside suburbs of Portobello and Leith, taking in several miles of breathtaking views over the Firth of Forth. The course will bring the runners in to the city centre for a dramatic finish in Holyrood Park.
