Everyman - Funding research to cross out male cancer
Everyman is the UK's leading male cancer campaign
Everyman Should Have A Go At Jacking in the New Year
After the excesses of Christmas and New Year, healthy living is at the forefront of everyone's minds, so what better way to start 2006 than by educating the man in your life to the risks of male cancer. With Sony recently revealing that they have sold over 100 million PS2 consoles worldwide, to a predominantly male audience, Everyman has teamed up for the first time with a games company to deliver its important health message to men. Games publisher Xplosiv will release the high speed, action-packed motorbike racing game 'Jacked' in support of Everyman. This full-on action game will strike the right chord with any red-blooded male and Xplosiv will donate 30p* from every game sold to The Everyman Male Cancer Campaign with the aim of raising £10,000.
As well as helping to raise money for vital research into male cancer, Jacked is also helping to raise awareness amongst men. 99% of cases of testicular cancer are curable if caught early enough, so encouraging men to look out for the signs and symptoms can literally save lives. With prostate cancer, one man an hour dies of the disease in the UK, making it the most common cancer in men.
James Spice, General Manager of Xplosiv, said "Xplosiv are excited to be supporting and raising valuable funds for the male cancer campaign, Everyman. With the release of Jacked, we are not only bringing to the marketplace an exciting, adrenaline filled motorbike-racing game, but with its huge appeal to the male computer gaming audience Jacked will allow Everyman to target the young male gaming audience for the first time, to deliver their important message"
Philip Black from The Everyman Campaign, commented: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Xplosiv through their new Jacked game. It is a new and important way for Everyman to raise awareness of male cancer within one of our target audiences - young males. It will also provide us with vital funds that are needed in order for our scientists to continue their important research at The Everyman Centre - Europe's first and only centre dedicated to male cancer research."
So get your man to jump on his motorbike and prepare for the rush as he races against mad bikers through city streets, urban wastelands and mountain peaked highways in the ultimate game of motorcycle combat. This action game is available from February 10, 2006.
