I was 16 when I saw an Awareness Talk on testicular cancer Awareness at my school

The lady giving the talk, Wendy Gough, had lost her son to testicular cancer. I didn't really know anything about testicular cancer before then, but after her talk I made a habit of checking myself pretty regularly.

It was a few months later when I found a lump.

I went straight to the doctor and was diagnosed testicular cancer. Fortunately, thanks to my checks, I had caught it early and only needed an operation and not chemotherapy.

My doctor told me that if I had come two weeks later my treatment would have been a lot more intense.

I am now fully recovered and studying at Bournemouth University.
