Latest developments
December 2004
We have distributed almost 14,000 copies of the 'A Breath
of Fresh Air' CD ROM worldwide to date; user feedback suggests
that it is currently being used in a variety of settings:
- As a standalone tool for independent study
- At study days for nurses, physiotherapists, occupational
therapists and GPs
- As part of undergraduate training in nursing/medical
schools
- In medical and nursing road shows on palliative care
A new manufacture run of 1,000 copies of the program is currently
underway, jointly funded by the IEU and Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Since the launch of the resource in June 2001 there have
been a number of developments in the management of breathlessness
and new studies published in the field. We are currently working
on an update of the program to incorporate this new information.
This involves amending content and adding additional material
to the program where appropriate for re-launch in mid 2005.
If you would like to be kept informed of progress on this
project, please .
The update of A Breath of Fresh Air is funded by the Marks
& Spencer community involvement fund.
